A quick October update.
A quick October update.

As best as we can tell, all our paperwork is ready except for the final clearance from INS. We head to the Norfolk INS office tomorrow for fingerprinting, which should be the final hurdle before the entire package gets apostilled and sent to Ukraine for translation and submission to the SDA.
Since the last post, we sent a Power of Attorney and Petition for Adoption to Ukraine, hoping to verify that Katya is available. Charlene has broken the code on getting things apostilled (which was a new term and concept to me). In a nutshell, it verifies that the notary is a state licensed notary. It required a trip to Richmond, but Charlene found the folks in the state office very helpful.
We finally got to talk with Katya on Saturday. We had tried for two weekends to get through and she wasn’t available. This time we got through and were told she was eating supper but to call back in 10 minutes. We did, and she answered the phone. It was good to hear her. She let us know that she’s ready to come to America and be an American now.
The big question on our mind is, “when will we be going?” We have been praying that it would be in God’s perfect time, though our preference would be sooner rather than later.

Tim & Charlene, just happened upon your blog and I am impressed with your update! We have not been so conscientiuos :-) Congrats in getting this far in your paperwork while you wait to hear from INS. So glad you finally got to speak with Katya!! Hope all went well today with fingerprinting!
